Dear readers, I have expanded the Dreaming Sophia Website to include my new novel “Waking Isabella.” As you know from reading my first book “Dreaming Sophia,” La Loren is a protagonist first in the main character’s dreams and then later…well you have to read the book to find out! Sophia Loren to me is a metaphor that embodies all of Italy’s rich and fascinating culture. It seems appropriate to include my new book “Waking Isabella” on this site as Sophia is still my muse!

I know how much work goes into a book, and yours certainly shines through. In Dreaming Sophia, Melissa Muldoon weaves many strands of Italian culture into a delightful blend of fantasy, romance, art and history. With an artist’s keen eye and deft touch, she brings to life the titans of Italian culture in a touching tale of a young woman reeling from loss who discovers that “Italy is the answer.” The many Italophiles who share her belief will revel in the adventures of this kindred spirit. Brava, Melissa!
And Now Melissa’s second book set in Arezzo Italy is available
Waking Isabella. Because beauty can’t sleep forever.
“Renaissance princess Isabella de’ Medici steals the limelight as her influence transforms lives even across centuries. A beautiful story filled with intrigue. mystery, art, and redemption. Melissa Muldoon succeeds in transporting the reader to Tuscany with all its cultural festivities, history and people. A treat for lovers of historical fiction, the beauty of art, and the challenge of starting a new life and rediscovering love.” – Italy Book Tours
“Waking Isabella is the kind of historical fiction I love – the main story takes place in the present but within the plot are flashbacks of stories taking place in the Renaissance and during World War II. If you’ve never been to Arezzo, you’ll probably want to go after you read this book. Recommended reading for anyone who wants to take an armchair journey to Tuscany or looking for new places to explore on their next trip.” – Marth Bakerjian, Italy travel expert “Martha’sItaly.com” and “About.com”
